Superintendent A. DeWayne Tillman, Sr. is a devoted son of the Church, raised in Jesup, Georgia, and shaped by life’s refining experiences. Known as “a Man among Men and a Preacher among Preachers,” he serves with humble strength and unwavering faith as the Senior Pastor of Greater Refuge Cathedral COGIC in Sylvania, Georgia.
Over the years, Superintendent Tillman has faithfully served in numerous leadership capacities within the Church of God in Christ. His service includes Secretary of the Screven County Ministerial Alliance, Co-Chairperson of the Gathering of Eagles Pastors & Leaders Conference, and former President of the Department of Evangelism of the Southeast Georgia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. He now serves as Superintendent of the Progressive District of the Northern Georgia II Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, distinguishing him as one of the youngest District Superintendents in the state of Georgia.
A gifted preacher, singer, musician, and author, Superintendent Tillman continues to inspire through both word and deed. Yet, his most cherished accomplishment is his marriage of more than two decades to Dr. LaTara Hunter-Tillman. Together, they are the proud parents of two children: Ms. Atira Divine and Master Allen D. “Myles” Tillman II.
